Festival program and product display “Vui Tet Songkran” officially took place at MM Mega Market

Ho Chi Minh City, April 08, 2021 – Tonight, the opening ceremony of the “Songkran Festival” event officially took place at the An Phu Center of MM Mega Market Vietnam Co., Ltd. (“MM”). “Songkran Festival” is an event organized with special cultural activities to celebrate the most important holiday of the year in Thailand – Songkran holiday. Opening ceremony activities were held at MM Mega Market Center An Phu and are expected to end on April 11, 2021. The “Songkran Festival” week includes a series of decoration and entertainment on the theme of Songkran holiday, along with various promotion programs for symbolic Thai products with preferential prices taking place for 2 weeks at all MM shopping centers.

“Songkran Festival” – Experience the largest cultural festival of Thailand right in Vietnam

The year 2021 marks 45 years of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Thailand, but due to the negative impact from the COVID-19 pandemic, trade and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and Thailand have been briefly disrupted. Therefore, “Songkran Festival” is an effort of MM Vietnam in advocating the connection and promoting trade between the two countries, with the goal that through this festival, domestic consumers can access diversified, quality imported products, at the same time bring traditional Thai New Year moving closer to the Thai community and local consumers in Vietnam.

In the framework of MM’s “Songkran Festival” opening ceremony, there are activities inspired by Thai culture such as water LED drum performance, Songkran Festival photo booth, lucky draws with gifts of Thai specialties, and a series of games inspired by splashing activities on the Songkran festival. In addition, at 11 major shopping centers of MM also hold a ceremony of “Bathing of the Buddha ritual” as a custom of Thai people every Songkran festival. MM Mega Market An Phu Center is the venue for the “Songkran Festival” opening ceremony with the participation of representatives from the government and associations from Thailand and Vietnam.
