Top 10 Sustainable Business in the Trade and Services sector
On November 29, MM Mega Market (Vietnam) (“MMVN”) was honored in the Top 10 Sustainable Enterprises in the Trade – Service sector under the Program for Evaluating and Announcing Sustainable Enterprises in Vietnam (CSI) in 2024 organized by the Vietnam Confederation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), Central Economic Committee, Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs (MOLISA), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment (MONRE) and Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) with technical support from Deloitte Vietnam.
The CSI 2024 program is evaluated based on 153 qualitative and quantitative indicators in 6 main categories including: Overview of the enterprise, structure, organizational model and key personnel, business performance index in 3 years, corporate governance index, environmental index, and labor and social index.

The fact that MM Mega Market was honored in the Top 10 Enterprises in the field of Trade – Services of CSI 2024 is a special recognition for MMVN’s efforts in effectively implementing environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives, contributing to the overall sustainable development of the business community in Vietnam.
- MMVN has effectively implemented environmental, social, and governance (ESG) initiatives:
Regarding the Environment, in 2023, 13 MM Mega Market centers nationwide will apply the Rooftop Solar Energy system, producing more than 5.5 million kWh of electricity. In addition, the light amplification system from the roof with light pipes and energy-saving LED lighting systems also contributed to reducing 9,748 tons of CO2 equivalent to the environment. - In addition, through the Say No to Plastic Bags campaign, MM Mega Market has completely stopped providing plastic bags at the checkout counter, helping to reduce the discharge of an average of 10 million bags/year into the environment.
- MMVN cooperates with many organizations to develop a comprehensive waste collection and classification system, including electronic waste with Vietnam Recycling, paper boxes with Tetra Pak, old aluminum cans with TBC-Ball, plastic bottles with 2 partners Alta Group, glass bottles with O-I BJC.
- In terms of society, MM Mega Market also focuses on community activities in 4 areas: Education, Environment, Health, and Sharing. In 2023, 2,118 MMVN employees nationwide participated in volunteer activities such as donating blood, cleaning public areas, donating necessities to families in difficult circumstances, contributing more than 3,500 working hours.

In 2023, women accounted for 54% of the workforce. Notably, up to 47% of women are in leadership positions at MM Mega Market.
