MM Mega Market Vietnam commits to supporting Bac Giang Province during the Lychee Season 2023

On June 16th, Mr. Tran Quang Tan, the Director of the Bac Giang Department of Industry and Trade (DoIT), and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nghia, the Director of the Investment and Trade Promotion Center of Bac Giang with their delegation visited MM Mega Market in An Phu. On the visit, MM Mega Market Vietnam and Bac Giang DoIT discussed the quality, consumption behavior, and promotion strategy of seasonal fresh fruits. Bac Giang DoIT values MMVN’s dedication to supporting local agricultural products, especially the signature lychee from Bac Giang.

During the bountiful lychee season in 2023, the production volume of lychees in Bac Giang is expected to reach 70.000 tons with more than 40 percent planned for domestic consumption. Since the beginning of the season, the Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee and Viet Trade Promotion Agency have been working on various programs to boost the purchasing of lychee. To provide the best ultra-fresh product at a stabilized price from farm to fork and, also, maintain full commitment, MM Mega Market Vietnam joins hands with Bac Giang DoIT until the end of the lychee season.

From the end of May to the middle of June, more than 30 tons of Bac Giang early ripening lychee were distributed at 21 centers of MM Mega Market Vietnam. At the mid-season, MMVN is expected to consumer over 10 tons of ripe lychees weekly.

On May 30, under the witness of Tan Yen District People’s Committee, Bac Giang Provincial People’s Committee Councill, and Viet Trade Promotion Agency, the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed between buyers and local farmers from Bac Giang to support the consumption promotion programme of early ripening lychee.

The early lychee crop of Tan Yen District is entering the main harvest season, which expectedly provide approximately 17,000 tons of lychee this year. To join hands with authorities and farmers to promote and increase the value of signature local agricultural product, the representatives of MM Mega Market, 2 other companies, and 1 domestic e-commerce platform have pledged to support the programme during this lychee harvest.

 In the opening ceremony, MMVN starts our first order and delivery truck. Until the end of the season, Bac Giang’s iconic lychees will be displayed for purchase at 21 stores of MM Mega Market.
