MM Mega Market creates a happy workplace in Vietnam

On August 28th, MM Mega Market Vietnam (MMVN) was honored to be certified as one of the 12 enterprises with happy human resources in 2024 under the independent assessment program by Anphabe Joint Stock Company, based on the survey results of 15,000 employees nationwide to measure the attractiveness of Employer Brands in different industry groups in Vietnam.

The fast-changing retail industry is often associated with the concept of a high-pressure environment in operations due to its dynamic nature. The human resources participating in the retail sector are also very diverse, especially in the operations. “Happy Workplace” is the core pillar of MM Mega Market’s HRM

Happy Workplace is one of the four pillars of MM Mega Market’s corporate culture, along with Customer@Heart, Drive Change, and Strive for Excellence. Here, each individual is empowered, respected, and inspired, along with equality and diversity in terms of gender, age, identity, and ethnicity. In 2023, women will account for 54% of the workforce. Notably, 47% of females are in leadership positions at MM Mega Market. “In 2024, we strive to design special vacancies for disadvantaged groups in society. We respect every individual and hope that all special ones deserve to have equal access to job opportunities” – Ms. Nguyen Thi Vinh Thanh, Human Resources Director of MM Mega Market Vietnam shared.

MM Mega Market has also developed a code of conduct and labor regulations to ensure transparency and fairness concerning the labor rights and obligations. Last year, 100% of employees were trained in Safety and Health at work, aiming to limit labor risks. Above that, we also focus on mental health and happiness values, inspiring each individual at MMVN to balance their personal lives through 12 health topics from medical experts in the industry, as well as healthy physical activities after work hours.

Each individual is encouraged to continuously develop both professional knowledge and hands-on skills

With more than 3,000 employees across Vietnam, we ensure that our employees develop robustly in professional expertise as well as soft skills that helps MMVN maintain its core values ​. MMVN’s professional training programs are implemented through many forms such as direct workshops at the Head Office led by MMVN’s “seniors” and invited experts in the field. In addition, MMVN employees can also access training topics that have been translated and designed into online courses on a specialized e-learning system. In 2023, the company deployed more than 242 topics with 85,399 training hours. Each employee participates in an average of nearly 26 hours of training per year.

In line with the “Humans are the Future” strategy, MM Mega Market also implements a series of comprehensive, diverse and harmonious development initiatives, designed to promote growth and nurture talents under the “Thanh Giong” spirit. The name is inspired by the Vietnamese traditional tale with the image of Thanh Giong growing up and transforming strongly into a great warrior. Since 2022, MM has launched Accelerate programs such as Vietnam-Thailand International Exchange, Internship, Future Leaders. In particular, MM Mega Market signed a Memorandum of Understanding with FPT Institute of Technology Management (FSB) to accompany the Mini-MBA program for future leaders and to develop skills for the core management team and, recently, training courses on spirit and leadership skills for operational and head office staff.
